What can you expect from a Candace Blevins book? Engaging and interesting characters, a real love story, some twists in the tale, and imaginative, inventive and steaming hot sex scenes. Duke doesn’t disappoint.

The combination of Gen, who is a tough, independent businesswoman with a knack for picking dickhead men for relationships, and Duke, who is a hard-headed biker used to being around women who offer their bodies as easily as they eat breakfast, is a fascinating one. Duke wants Gen but knows he has to go slowly and not scare her off. Gen can take care of herself and has sworn off men, but falls hard for him.

Is this vanilla sex? Well not really, but it’s not the BDSM Ms Blevins usually writes either. Duke wants control in the bedroom, and Gen isn’t used to anything beyond missionary position. Watching them learn how to fit their expectations together makes for riveting reading, and it isn’t all give by Gen and take by Duke. He admits that he does things for her he has never done for a woman before. And it all works brilliantly.

There is also the pleasure of meeting some of your favourite players from Ms Blevins’ previous books, which works to make the whole Chattanooga motorbike club/supernatural/BDSM world a cohesive, realistic thing. Not to mention that some of those characters are seriously hot (I have a thing for Tyler. And Aaron.
And possibly Isaac. And now Duke *sigh*).

And finally, who knew a werewolf could do that with that? I’m really looking forward to reading more in this series.
If you haven’t read any of Candace Blevins’ other books, you can certainly start with this one, although you’re missing out if you don’t go back and read the rest.

Thought I would give this one ago as I really liked Candace Blevins Safeword series. I’m afraid I didnt like Gen at all, she ran hot and cold and was just plain boring, I was bored with her detailed lists of appointments in her realtor job and details about her real estate sales. Duke came across as a bully, demanding Gen just ‘bend over the sofa’ so he can do her, because he said so!! Yeah I don’t think so. I also don’t get the whole wearwolf thing and saw no point in this series being a paranormal romance.

Pet peev for me is the author banging on about gun use over and over again, if I have to hear what gun a female is carrying I will chuck my kindle at the wall. Safeword Arabesque was the same, constant telling of gun use, what guns they were carrying, how much practice they were doing in the gun range and how safe the female felt just having a gun around, I live in England so to be fair I have no opinion to whats right and wrong for gun use in America, but for me the constant repetition of it in two books was just plain boring.

Due to liking the Safeword series I’m going to give book two a try, as Brain’s book does sound interesting, but if I don’t like it I think I’ve given this series a fair shot.

Wow, a romance sub-genre mashup. There's an MC (motorcycle club) that's only semi-shady, a hot alpha male club president who -- wait for it - is also a werewolf! And suspense driven by the heroine's stalker-ex. And seriously hot adult content. I've added it to my BDSM shelf, although it isn't really. Mostly the hero (Duke) is super-alpha in the bedroom creating a D/s dynamic around sex.

Otherwise - Duke is a *gasp* supportive partner to Gen (Genesis), going the extra mile to be sure his club affiliation doesn't hamper her real estate career. Gen in turn qualifies as an action-heroine using both martial arts and a handgun to defend herself and others from assault.

Totally fun read in the 'now for something different' category.

*My only complaint were the references to the backstories of the some the secondary characters who appeared in MMA series. I haven't read those and the references were more distracting that helpful

I loved the concept and since I didn't read the blurb I loved that the shifter aspect was a surprise that being said.... this is freaking long and it doesn't even need to be. I would have loved it probably if the h grew up and stopped being a brat the whole time and if it was condensed. I also felt lost in the world this book took place in. I think there's a way of introducing a world to readers without confusing the heck out of them and this didn't do that for me... that being said. I'm gonna move to book two and see if redemption is in sight ...wish me luck

This is about Duke, a werewolf shifter, and Gen, a high-end real estate agent who knew each other when Duke was in high school and friends with her brother. Duke moves back to Chattanooga and brings members of his old MC chapter with him to expand. Duke and the guys were easy to enjoy and made the story. Gen was often OTT and a bit dramatic. Sometimes it made me want to DNF the book. I do wish the story focused a little more on the shifter side of things. I wouldn’t want it to overtake the current plot, but it would’ve provided more context to how they’ve ended up where they are. Overall, I enjoyed the book and will continue the series.

Oh God. Where do I start....?!
Perhaps it was my fault, because I did not read the description of the book. I looked at the good ratings and the hot cover and went for it.
It started out pretty standard, boy meets girl (again) and so on and so forth. I ate that right up.
Then complications start happening. Duke turns out to be a werewolf (wtf... I thought I was reading a normal book) AND there is a motorcycle club, and they're all bad and dangerous and rawr, but not at all, because some people are more dangerous...

I truly couldn't finish this book. It was way too much for me.

Gen always had a crush on her brothers best friend in high school, Keith. However once he left, she never expected to see him again. Now Duke is a biker with Rolling Thunder and a potential client for her real estate company. Duke makes his interest known from the beginning, but with their new arrival in town it is not safe for him to date Gen. Once the time has passed though, Duke moves in and Gen falls hard for Duke however it is not a smooth ride as tempers flare, danger lurks, and Duke reveals a secret about him being a werewolf.

This was a fascinating book. I was completely entranced from the very beginning. Duke is pure alpha and Gen struggles to find her way with him at times. Gen has a long history of being with cheaters and her fear that Duke would do the same is holding her back from fully embracing her love her him. Unexpected and a complete delight.

This was a good introduction into the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. Duke and Gen couldn't be more different but for some reason they work. Very enjoyable story.
