While I love the pair of Christina Lauren, I do feel like it’s unpredictable which version of them you’ll get (maybe based on lead writer, etc?) but this story and flavor of smut just was not my jam.
For the first ~15 pages I kept waiting for the “Waking Up From This Steamy Dream”, which didn’t happen. Felt way too close to abuse of power and violation to be pleasurable. I’m stubborn and read to the end anyway and the end was more enjoyable once personalities got involved. It didn’t make up for the rest for me.

It was exactly what I expected it to be, which is a bit disappointing considering the high ratings this book got.
There's little in the way of plot. The dialogue is awkward and ridiculous. But the entertainment value is definitely there.
Bennett is pretty sexy as a hero. His relationship with Chloe is definitely a hot/cold type with a little whiplash thrown in for the way both characters frequently kept changing their minds.

This is hard to review, I read it in one evening. Is it really problematic? Yes, definitely. Did I really enjoy it? Yes, definitely.

I absolutely love this author, but this book was just horrible. There’s essentially no plot and just hardcore sex scenes one after the other. Very repetitive. I’m a spicy romance fan, but calling this romance at all is a stretch. It’s just porn.

I feel like this didn’t age very well. The negative use of the word bitch when referring to the MC by the love interest made me cringe, every time. Written a bit more mechanically at first. It’s not bad and I have a feeling the others in this series only get better and better. Will be reading on. Fun smut and worth checking out if you need a cleanser in between reads.
