Dit boek is duidelijk geschreven in een tijd waarin problematisch gedrag nog niet als dusdanig werd herkend en zelfs als, ehm… aantrekkelijk werd ingezet. Ik las dit verhaal in het Nederlands (want gratis te lezen via Kobo+) maar mijn hemel, het Nederlands is simpelweg niet geschikt voor dit genre - en de vertaler was blijkbaar ook moe van al het gebeuk en gebonk om nog creatief te zijn.

Hoe dan ook, interessant om het eerdere werk van Christina Lauren te lezen - ik heb dit jaar drie van hun latere boeken gelezen, waaronder het fenomenale Love and other words - en vind het leuk om te zien hoeveel beter ze zijn geworden in het construeren van een verhaal én hoeveel minder schunnig ze zijn geworden, haha. Hoe goed Christina Lauren kunnen schrijven schemert wel al door.

I've been humming and harring about whether to give this book 4 or 5 stars but I was completely gripped and devoured the book so I ended up giving it 5 stars. The characters were brilliant and I loved the chemistry between Bennett and Chloe although I think this is by far the *spiciest* book I've ever read...
The Christina Lauren binge continues...

Such a sexy bastard, such vivid pictures the authors have described. I was hooked with the mix of emotions I felt throughout the book.

I have wasted my time finishing this book because I was looking forward to it at least having a better ending that what was happening, and I should have finished this shit. I think that's enough of new adult for me. For now.
