I read & evaluated this book for the Vancouver Children's Literature Roundtable (VCLR)'s 2019 Information Book Award.
I LOVED this book! The multimedia illustrations are so engaging and eye catching. I especially liked that the use of multimedia adds a higher contrast in the images so the youngest readers who have not developed their eye sight fully can benefit fully from being read this book. The child and adult are not given a race or gender which makes the story feel more universal. The book is simple yet informative- the writing is lyrical with clear text. Overall, the book is both informative yet imaginative.
