One of my favorite collections of poetry that I have read (which admittedly isn't many).

Great poetry will transcend whatever limit you put on yourself for "understanding" the text and leave you with an aching, lighter heart. All that to say I definitely cried reading this treasure trove of grief, love, queerness, mother-son relationships, and so much more I can't capture in this text box.

The true beauty of this collection is the strength of Nguyen's vulnerability. A fountain of hope and irreverence bubbles up through the cracked surface of a human being bifurcated by culture, family, and their own keenly felt truth. Empathy and honesty reside here in equal measure.
