This is my first Haddix book and I can see why she is a popular middle grade author. The characters are easy to relate to, the plot line moves quickly, and it allows kids to explore some interesting "what if" scenarios, some realistic, some not.
Very cool book about two young boys who learn that they are a part of a group of 36 babies who mysteriously land at an airport aboard a plane that suddenly appears out of nowhere. Cover-ups, time travel and a fast pace make this story very entertaining.

Pretty solid idea. One thing about Haddix; she is absolutely going to do something that has never been done before. I like how Katherine’s character growth begins pretty much immediately. I like watching her gain some depth. Some of the time travel details are a little iffy, but then again, everything in sci-fi requires you to suspend your disbelief and just go with it (which I am historically bad at). Excited for the second book, which I remember to be my favorite in the series.
Great mystery! The pacing of the book was solid and the characters were fun and believable. A real page turner from beginning to end. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.
I read this book while helping with the Elementary Battle of the Books team at the school I work at. Even as an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am excited to read the next books in the series!
Sadly, this book is not near as good as my young self remembered it being. I’m going to continue to work on the series thought out the year!
An airplane mysteriously appears at the airport with no flight crew. There are 36 passengers on the plane and they are all babies. Fastforward 13 years to Jonah, an adopted kid who starts receiving mysterious letters in the mail "Beware, they are coming to take you back!" You get the idea. Where did the babies come from, why is the FBI involved in his adoption, etc.
I always enjoy a good time-travel tale. I bought this for Zack and Petey to read, but found myself reading it instead. It's a good clean one, age appropriate for 4-7th grade.

My 12 year old daughter started reading this series so I thought I would check it out. Very quick read, reminiscent of "A Wrinkle In Time" meets "The Langoliers." Apparently the 2nd book picks right up where this one leaves off so I will be reading that one next.
OMG!!! THIS IS THE BEST BOOK SERIES FOR ANYONE INTO SCI FI AND HISTORICAL FICTION!!! Great mix of both I cannot express how much I enjoyed this entire series. On top of the amazing storyline the writing is fantastic not to slow or to fast and good wording!!
