An excellent source to understand how Ukraine has reached where it is today, both in politics and its changing borders.

A concise and clever look into how Ukrainian history affects the country since 90s until 2020. Anyone who wants to tweet or post something stupid on SM about the current russian aggression should be made to read this book first.

I found this a pretty timely and important book.

I learned quite a lot when reading this one!

Would recommend to learn more about the Ukraine.

Feels a little biased to be overly promotional if the West, but I know nothing of whether that feeling is real or not. A nice overview as someone who knew nothing save minimal orthodox Christian history.

Maybe listening to it as an audiobook ruined it for me. I could not really focus on what the narrator was saying so I understood very little.
The Q&A format was quite good though.

*This book was published before Russia’s February 2022 invasion into Ukraine

Wow. There is so much information in this book: to the point where it can be very overwhelming at times.
However, the author did a really good job breaking down all the politics and relevant history!
If you are interested in the history behind Russian/Ukrainian tensions, (up until ~2020) then this is a really really good overview with questions written out and then answered.

This book was a good broad overview on the cultural and political records of Ukraine. I liked the question and answer format.
