3.5 rounded up.

A complicated family drama involving mothers and daughters, second chances, broken families, women romance authors and destination weddings. Two estranged half-sisters reunite on Corfu for their mother's latest wedding only to have family secrets revealed and hard truths come to harsh light. Good on audio narrated by Imogen Church. This makes a perfect beach read for fans of complex family stories and exotic settings.

Catherine Swift is a very successful romance writer with 2 daughters. One daughter, Adeline, is from her first marriage with Andrew. During that marriage, Catherine had a relationship with a man named Rob Dunn, and she was pregnant with her 2nd daughter, Cassie. That situation made Catherine and Andrew officially divorce.

For some time, Adeline and Cassie were very close and were each other's best friend until Adeline was sent away to be with her father. Catherine, Rob, and Cassie lived together until Rob had suddenly passed away from falling down the stairs.

Years later and another failed marriage, Catherine is getting married for the fourth time. Catherine and Cassie have a close relationship, but even Cassie doesn't know who her mother is getting married to. She didn't even know that Catherine was dating someone. Sadly, Cassie and Adeline are no longer close and Cassie is surprised when Adeline shows up for the wedding. It's not like Adeline really wants to be there as she is really going for her dad because her dad asked her to go.

Who is Catherine getting married to and why is it such a secret? Are Cassie and Adeline able to mend their relationship? Are Catherine and Adeline able to mend their relationship as well?

I thought this book was really interesting and it would make for an excellent movie! I am a mood reader and I just wasn't feeling this book as much, but I did enjoy the overall story. For me, it took about 150 pages to really get into the book and I wasn't loving any of the characters. At the end of the book, I didn't really love any of the characters and I wasn't really rooting for them. I did enjoy the interaction between the sisters!

Catherine Swift, best selling romance author, is about to get married for the 4th time and hopes her daughters will be happy for her but she worries about choices she made in the past. Things don't go as planned and her daughters are upset and confused and have so many questions and are not content with her 'stories'. This story of family and secrets and being honest about love.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for my honest review.

Was not very good. Writing was too simple and characters and plot too boring.

If this was another author, I might rate this book higher, but for Sarah Morgan it wasn't one of her best.  Sarah has generally made the transition from Romance to multi-character women's fiction with romance elements.  That switch has been made with some success.  I did not dislike this book, but it it wsa really predictable.  There were multiple aspects of the plot that I think were supposed to be surprises, that the reader could spot a mile away.  It was fine, just not that engaging.

Rounding up from 2.5 stars. I enjoyed the setting. It was very predictable (the two things that were — I think — intended to be surprises, were pretty obvious from the very beginning). Characters were two-dimensional, but not unlikable.

I’m not one to complain about editing, but this had mistakes I’ve never seen before — random capital letters in the middle of words (just two I noticed, but still! What a bizarre error) and the teacher that was referenced throughout changed names at the very end. So strange. The book could have been 50 pages shorter.
