the flipping between narrators was a little annoying to me as I sometimes couldn’t figure out who it was. overall enjoyed the book and loved the rowing representation even if it was a bit corny

This book made me so angry. But in a good way. It was a very enjoyable read and I finished the book with a sigh of relief of the fact that I live in 2023 and in Western Europe. The amount and ways of discrimination women have faced and often still face in countless countries and places is portrayed in an excruciatingly realistic way.

I have no idea why it took me so long to pick this up. I love Bonnie Garmus' writing style, it's not your typical storytelling as it felt very cinematic with multiple POVs in one "scene." Lessons in Chemistry's characters are easy to fall in love with, especially our brilliant and headstrong main character and, of course, Six Thirty. The growth of her list of characters didn't feel forced or confusing even when meeting most of them in the last 1/3 of the book. Most importantly, topics of sexism and trauma were handled with such care but felt accurate for the time period.

Loved the characters. Loved the premise. Especially loved the dog. Sad for it to be over and leave these characters behind.
