I really enjoyed this audiobook! The setting and characters were extremely important to compete the storyline. I enjoyed how a lot of the characters and plot lines were intertwined. The woman focused undertones where great and as much as the main character could be considered unlikeable I genuinely thought the way the character responded, interacted and spoke in her world was very true to herself. I enjoyed the science based dialogue between the romance.

One of the most riveting books I’ve ever read. Spoke to me on a molecular level.

The marketing of this book is incredibly deceptive. Based on the cover and reviews, I went in thinking it was going to be a light-hearted beach read. No. There is a graphic rape scene on page  18, followed closely by a detailed description of homophobia and suicide. A woman is called a c*nt twice. I’m not saying that kind of content can’t be in literature, I’m just saying that the reader needs to know it’s there before starting the book.
Elizabeth Zott has no personality outside of being a standard issue girl boss white feminist. Her one-dimensionality is insufferable and ironically, anti-feminist. I appreciated the attempt at creating neurodivergent characters.

Holy crap, this book. Wow. I wasn't sure this would end up being loved by me as much as it was/is. But it is. Does some of the themes and rants feel a little too on the nose and fake? Yes. But, do they also speak to me in a deeply emotional way? Yes. This book made me laugh, cry, and actually want to watch a TV show. What else can I say?

This book was a surprise. The cover is definitely deceiving. I was shocked by how sad and brutal it could be at times, but at the heart of it is a story about love, found family, and friendship. I enjoyed the characters and wanted to spend more time with them when the story was over.
