Don’t go into this expecting Cruel Prince and you will enjoy it so much more. I really enjoyed my time spent with this story.

I think I just enjoyed being back in the world so much! After reading one too many books that had poor execution on the world building, Holly Black scratched that itch for me.

I am actually excited for the sequel, which doesn’t happen often so it must have been good ;)

there wasn’t much suspense at times but the characters are truly amazing. Oak and Wren are such complex and compelling characters and i love them and can’t wait to see more of them. i wonder how anyone could actually dislike them.
if it were only up to them, i’d give this 5 stars, but the lack of suspense in the storyline kind of bothered me. the ending was great though.

This book struggled like the others in the trilogy for me. It kept me engaged, but when I look back I feel like not much happened throughout the book. I personally didn’t see the twist at the end, but once it was revealed it was pretty obvious. All in all it’s a decent book that did keep me engaged but fell a bit flat.
