I loved this book! Starts a little slow, but quickly picks up and I couldn't put it down once I got into it!

The past that never will be and the future that already has been. This book's dripping with the best kind of Revolution of the Common-Sense. And it points its little terrifying and amusing finger at *you*.
Kudos to the Polish translator of the book, she did a great job, and I believe it was not quite easy.

I loved the format of this book. It is six separate stories that interlink through time and genera. It was a fascinating read. Highly recommended!
Interesting read. Main themes were about race, power, greed, religion that were very topical.
Ah, what a book. Grew a fondness for David Mitchell while reading. Great ideas for swirling around in one's head :).
SURPRISE! What I thought was just a platform for a neat narrative trick turned into something entirely different in the last 15 pages. Well played, David Mitchell. Well played. Now: to the movie theater!
I really really wanted to love Cloud Atlas, because I love the premise of it, and the trailer looks excellent. The book isn't bad as such, but it is just so slow moving, and I was half-way through it before I really started caring about any of the characters - and just as you start caring about one character you move on to the next.
The layout is interesting, and from a theoretical standpoint I really liked it, but in praxis it just didn't work for me.

While I deeply respect David Mitchell's writing breadth and capability, this was hard to get through for me. Some of the stories were hard to follow and they felt more loosely tied together than I expected. However, maybe my book club discussion about it will sway me... More to come perhaps!
