M.M. Kaye

4.04 AVERAGE

One of my favorite books ever. M.M. Kaye provides a great story within a detailed historical context. The author's love of India and her people is clear in every word and detail she writes.

I wanted a sweeping epic, and thats what I got...a full 2.5 months long on Audible. I was kind of disappointed in the repetive aspects, and it did draggggg at times, but I liked the characters and the descriptiveness of late 1800s colonial India. It's like I've been there.

Wow god damn the person who recommended this on the basis that I enjoyed Shantaram.
Not sure if I would've enjoyed it more if I hadn't compared it to Roberts Masterpiece.
informative slow-paced

This book so fun and adventurous. Reading it was like a fairy tail that could lastet longer than it already had. The characters are so well written. You feel the pain, the love, the agony through the pages.

I took it everywhere with me I didn't care that the book was heavy. I loved it and now since the Corona Pandemic i want to snuggle in my bed and do nothing but to read it again. Maybe i will do that.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

i read this many years ago, and never entered it into my Goodreads list. but this week i was talking with a friend, and something reminded me of this book.
