Stunning.

Beautiful. My favorite book I've read all year.

Wow.

No rating as this is a memoir and it feels wrong to rate someone’s personal story.

I really loved reading a memoir in a graphic novel format. I think it was the perfect medium to convey the family history, feelings, settings, and story of the author’s life and the life of her parents.
I learned a lot about Vietnam and the war and the experience of being a refugee according to the author.
This is a very meaningful novel and I think it is worth a read as it tackles important topics such as war, refugees, family trauma, family bonds, resilience, love and loss, to name a few.

This is a good story as far as showing what some refugees have been through, but it wasn't my favourite book
