So nonfiction isn’t my jam. I wish it was because there are SO many incredible nonfiction books out there, but they just don’t do it for me.

Then came this one. Jason bought this for me last year and I noticed it was nonfiction so I sat it on my shelf and forgot about it. MAN am I glad I picked it up again.

This is the HORRIFYING tale of the Knotek sisters and the horrible abuse they faced from their mother, Michelle (Shelly) and father, Dave. So many TWs for descriptions of abuse, death, etc. I cannot IMAGINE what these girls, as well as Kathy, Ron, and Shane, endured. This book read like fiction. I seriously devoured it in less than 24 hours, even though it was SUCH a hard read. These girls are potentially the strongest people I’ve ever read about.

I’m a true crime fan, and can handle descriptions of horrendous things, but some of these events left me nauseous. Please look up trigger warnings and maybe even a description of the case before reading this, but I highly recommend it.

Really dark and interesting. But some of the info became repetitive and too detailed
