A book that will pull at your heart string and frustrate you are the same time!!

Conner and Ellery are made for each other. They are troubled souls who have gone through a lifetime of heartache. They are both fighters, but their greatest battle are each other.

This book stuck with over the years. I just finished rereading it.

I believe this was the author’s debut novel and the writing reflects that. I prefer a little more depth.

I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. There's a lot of cliched drama in his story (everybody in her family dying at some point, evil twins, etc) but I liked the characters enough to overlook that.

DNF - 60 pages in, it was predictable and really cheesy and I felt their was no build up or intrigue, the main girl was too easy. This one was just trying too hard to be another fifty shades type and did not meet the mark. I couldn't do it.

This book had a lot of potential, but so often I felt like it just fell short of that potential. So often I found myself thinking, "How did that happen so quickly?!" Or, wondering whether there was more to a plot line. Not to mention character motivation was weak at best and non-existent at worst. I was annoyed with Ellery the MAJORITY of the time and really just wanted to slap her silly. However, the love scenes (which usually came out of NOWHERE!) were pretty steamy!

All-in-all, I found the book kind of flat and forced myself to finish it since it was so short!

I liked the whole concept behind it , I loved the story and some quotes , but the thing I didn't like about this book was and that thing or may I say person was Ellery , like I loved what the author had in her mind creating this , I am all for the girl power thing and all , but Ellery was just two different sides of a coin , sometimes she was an angel , others she was a complete bitch , like choose do you want a good heroine with the sweetest heart that see life from its good side or someone who is realistic , like at first she painted her as that girl that can see everything in pink and than you find out that she didn't and she was like you never know how long you can live it is not a choice , when she she made that choice for herself ... I hated when she didn't trust Connor when he told her nothing happened and when he told her what was really going on his life and what happened to him ,she was like sorry can't take this anymore , I hate that Connor easily forgave her when he found her dancing with some stranger , yeah he called you a slut , I can give it to you he made a huge mistake , but yeah that applies if you believe that we women should stop shaming each other , and stand together and that nobody has to call you a bitch , slut or whore based on the way you act cause if that was the way things should be than man would be the biggest whore , and the thing is she called that girl whore and when he called her slut , cause she was dancing her ass pushing what she thought that guy's private area , she got fucking mad , and he didn't make her pay or even apologize , like if the roles were reversed she would've just made a whole scene out of it ...
This is one of the sweetest thing she told him -Infinity is forever, and that is what you are to me, you are my forever Mr. Black.-
I actually have mixed feeling about this book it was good , but wasn't well written ...

I came across ‘Forever Black’ through an Amazon recommendations email. When I read the summary I was immediately fascinated by this story and decided to order it. This story just seemed like a story I would love. So this morning I started reading it and I read it in one sitting.

‘Forever Black’ is the story about Ellery, a 23 year old girl who’s living in New York. Ellery’s live isn’t anything like the way she always wanted it to be. Her boyfriend for the last four years left her suddenly and Ellerly is having a big secret. One night, when Ellerly is in a club with her best friend, she stumbles upon a sexy-as-hell drunk guy. When one of the bouncers is trying to get this drunk guy out of the club, Ellerly decides to help this drunk guy and makes sure he arrives home okay. What Ellery doesn’t knows is that this drunk guy is 30 year old CEO and millionaire Connor Black. And Connor is going to change her life forever.

I really liked ‘Forever Black’ even though it was a little predictable at times. I liked the first few chapters the most. The way Ellery and Connor got to know each other and fell in love against both their fears. This book is really romantic and sad at the same time and I really liked the way I was able to lose myself in this story. Although in some ways this story was a little familiar I still loved it and would recommend it to every romance novel lover.

I give this book four stars.

Captivating storyline. While reading I had to suspended reality a bit.
