I truly adore the fake dating trope. This was such a fun cast of characters, I am so glad we got to see Josie find her HEA. A great amount of spice too.

I wanted to love this so much. But Josie was too much. Also, who goes to a farmers market at midnight?

This was marginally better than The Long Game. Matthew pulled it up because unlike Cam or Andrew he's never abusive and puts Josie in the driver's seat of her life unlesshim, quietly supporting  she calls on him. Ok, I  get that this is a 'slow burn', but could we please have a central character who comes to integrity and honestly and strength by shunning the people pleasing? The 'need' for the fake engagement never rang true or made sense. Andrew continues to be consistently vile so the sudden change at the end didn't work. The PR woman Shark should have been sent packing right away. So evil, she could be a cardboard cutout too. Only Mathew's character kept me listening. Her inner chaotic , neurotic , babbling wore me down.

Fake engagement? Baby pigs named Pedro? A hilarious PR crisis manager? This book is the perfect amount of romance, humor, and heartwarming!

Josie Moore is a runaway bride. With four failed engagements and a complicated family history, she seizes the opportunity to help her father’s PR crisis by pretending to be engaged. Meanwhile, Matthew Flanagan, freshly fired and stranded in Green Oak, North Carolina, unexpectedly finds himself playing the role of Josie's fiancé when he runs into her. As they navigate their fake relationship, unexpected sparks fly. Will they actually make it to the altar or will their situationship end in heartbreak?

Thanks to NetGalley, Atria Books, and Elena Armas for allowing me access to this book. All opinions are my own.
