This novel was a weird one. The concept was really neat: uncovering an equation to predict people's exact time of death. Discovering a flaw in the system and being alive when you should be dead. Trying to uncover a sinister secret at your employer. All the "fixings" were there for a pretty cool sci-fi thriller, but this novel was more like an acid trip and one guy remembering random things in his life and talking to himself throughout the whole story.
The writing style wasn't the greatest. It felt choppy and all over the place. The narrator was kind of a jerk and I just didn't get the point of some of the stories he was telling about his past.
The ending was very odd for sure. Not sure what was going on and it quickly devolved into an Alice in Wonderland, drug-infused dream of a thing and it left me wondering "what did I just read?"

VERY dark and pretty disturbing. Is not the fun sci-fi action mystery that the description suggests - more a surreal philosophical journey about humanity and death.
Graphic: Murder, Animal cruelty, and Animal death
Moderate: Abortion and Miscarriage
