This book covers the case of Cheryl Cunningham, wife and mother of three, who was murdered by her husband, Brad. Brad Cunningham was a manipulative, conniving slimeball. He ran up debts. He was a serial abuser. This book was very thorough and I think that it may have been a bit too long. I found myself tired of reading towards the end. I was ready to be done. I think Ann Rule did a great job presenting the facts and the case and making the story personal for the reader. I like Ann Rule's books, but I certainly prefer these types to the ones that have several stories in one.

If I could give this elventy-billion negative stars, I would.
Ughhhhh what a SLOG.
Also I know this was published in 1995 but COME ON. THE MISOGYNY IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE, ANN. Like to say nude pictures in someone's home were like "art" and "not like Playboy pictures." GIRL, LET THE PLAYBOY WOMEN DO THEIR THING.
(This is your friendly reminder that sex work is WORK)
Just another tick mark in the ACAB column (Ms. Rule used to be a Seattle policewoman so that says everything you need to know).

Ann Rule is such an amazing story teller. It reads like a novel and I couldn't put it down.

Really good true crime read, but it is feeling a bit dated by 2021.
