This one didn't have quite the same grasp on me that Foundation had, but the ending most definitely paid off.
Sometimes it's hard to read because every little word matters, so getting distracted always means backtracking.

I enjoyed the first crisis in this one. I was on board all through the second with my suspicions about later discoveries, engaged with the characters, intrigued with the developments; but there’s a dramaticism that’s quite boring by the end, and fell out a bit too easily.
