Excellent book! I think I would have been more blown away by this novel if I had read this when I was younger. This is my 2nd Alice Walker novel (from my Mom's bookshelf) of the year and I love her writing. She's def one of the greats! I know everyone loooves Celie, but my favorite character is Nettie. I quite enjoyed the Celie/Shug lesbian love story and sisterhood. I could have done without the excessive Olinka/Africa stories from Nettie as she wrote to Celie on her experiences... but this is an overall great book. I feel satisfied with it, especially since the storyline came full circle for all of the characters. Is Alice Walker writing anything new?
