Felt rushed and the typos/errors are frequent enough that it made it hard to lock in

I was so disappointed in this book. The first one was really well done and the ending really had me hooked and dying to read the next one and everything was going great in this one until the author went the whole faded mates way and while the two people had known each other and were enemies in the first book there was no real natural progression and development romantically for them it was as if the author just used the whole faded mates thing and the fact that they were mildly attracted to each other before to move things along faster which really sucked because the actual plot itself was and still is interesting but I just couldn't stay invested when The faded mates things kept taking me out of the story and annoying me. So for all of that sadly it's two stars even though other aspects of the plot we're still really interesting I just couldn't focus.

Although the content was often heavy, this was an easy light/non-complex read.
There were a number of typos that were a little distracting, but hopefully that's been rectified in other editions. Also, I got the impression
Jerali Jones
is supposed to be non-binary/gender non-conforming, but the consistent use of their name instead of non-gendered/neo pronouns felt like very pointed avoidance and was somewhat jarring to read; (unless there was a content reader who advised otherwise) if a character of unknown/unspecified gender hasn't indicated they want to be referred to only by their name, probably better to use non-gendered pronouns rather than avoiding any althougher.

I am sorry. I wanted to like this book. I struggled with the first one, but liked the characters enough to try the second book. It was not good. I really feel like the writing was poor. The story line convienent. Nothing was explained. "go here and get this" now "go there and get that". I don't think the author had a clear idea of where this story was going. There's no foreshadowing or anything. I am so sorry to write this review but the book was almost unreadable. I ended up speed reading the last third.

So insane, I want and need more immediately! I'm so in love with all the characters and there is great spicy scenes! The flow of the book is amazing, the progression of the characters is phenomenal. So many parts had me crushed and crying, while others had me giggling like a little girl! So so good, everyone needs to read this series!!
