The Bellingwood Series of books are, in all honesty, absolutely garbage. They're formulaic, twee, overly ideal, mostly dialogue and the fact that there's a dead body and a mystery in each book is virtually inconsequential. But...I can't help but enjoy them. They're my guilty pleasure.

These books are light, quick reads that require little to no concentration. They are set in a fictional small town of Iowa where small town mentality is rife and everyone knows everyone and everything.

In this particular installment Bellingwood is celebrating 150 years since being founded, there are children visiting from the city to experience countryside life, a superfan is killing people and leaving notes on the bodies for Polly, our protagonist, to find and a new family of characters arrives unexpectedly but absolutely nothing happens regarding them!

I genuinely couldn't say I recommend these books, they are trash but they are my 'stuck in a reading rut' escapism trash and I can't promise I won't read another one either.

Excellent

This is a superb series that I love. They make me laugh cry and think. Everything one needs from a good book.
