Adequate. Although I wanted something a little more indepth, I think it served well enough to assist in understanding poetry more than I did previously.

If, like me, you've struggled to "get" poetry, this is a great place to start to figure it out. The author figured out how to make something dry and academic light and interesting. No small feat, that.

This was fine. A little more technical than I needed, which made parts of it a slog, but there were some good tips for approaching poetry.

This was part of the required reading for my British Literature class, and I do have to say this was a rather easy read. I feel like I would have benefited from this in high school when I knew very little about poetry, but as a second-year English major I already knew most of the material. That being said, this was still an interesting read and Foster is an entertaining writer. I would highly recommend this to people who don't know a lot about poetry and are looking to learn more.
