I just finished a boring book and regretted it. This was not too far from that.

Wow. This is the first Flynn book for me and I loved it. Very thrilling and suspenseful. A four star only because I found out the "twist" really early on in the book, and some of the characters and plot points found some nerve and drove me nuts.

Let's start with Amy (she is the character I had the most problems with). She is incredibly self centered and self absorbed... and for lack of a better word insane. For someone to go the lengths she did to "ruin" her husband because he "dented" her perfect reputation bothers me... Personally, I do not in anyway shape or form believe cheating is the answer, and I believe if you are unhappy, just leave- don't harm that person anymore with being unhappy and unfulfilled in the marriage. There is a way to deal with things that doesn't involve ending the other persons life with a jail sentence and death penalty. I just felt that there were many ways to solve their issues... I found that Amy very obviously has mental health issues. I can see the amount of work that Amy went to to implicate Nick in her "perfect" murder.

Nick... oh, Nick... as I mentioned, I do not agree with cheating... which brings me to the question: Why on earth did you not leave this Psycho? I can understand his concerns of accusations and loses should he leave her, but Christ... He did a rather terrible job when dealing with the police and not implicating himself in some way. Go, is probably the best sister ever (lumped with Nick for Twin reasons...). She does make attempts to trust in Nick, and believe him, and really only breaks tow major times through the book. (the Andie issue, and the woodshed). But over all amazing.

The Elliots... Holy fuck they drove me nuts. In learning more about Amy and her parents struggles to have a child, you'd think they'd have something prepared to raise a child, and not make the huge mistakes that they did in the raising of a child (so not to end up CARAZY!

Plot wise, the book held my attention, despite learning the twist way early and not agreeing with the characters all the way at times...

Great book, highly recommended.
