This was an unexpected find. I had one of those days when I needed a break from my TBR pile and wanted something new and quick. I landed on this, and boy, was it a fantastic find. It's extremely funny, well-written, light-hearted, and enjoyable to read. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a break from the crazy world and wants to laugh. #quickread #funnycharacters #dopeoplereallyactlikethis #ineededthistoday

I liked this book, but didn't love it. The concept of a lawyer being under house arrest for public exposure and then meeting someone else in her apartment building also under house arrest was pretty far-fetched. The other characters were equally unrealistic and then the whole story was wrapped up with a bow really quickly.

I don’t care for the plot.

Good lighthearted read.

A light and funny read but if you were to ask me what exactly it was about, I couldn’t tell you haha. For a while I thought it was going to be a murder mystery but it just kind of panned out to be a romance I guess?

I genuinely liked this book, it was a fun simple read with an interesting storyline. The main reason for not giving it 5 stars is the plot line felt slightly anticlimactic. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop, and maybe it did in a weird way, but not as powerfully as anticipated. Either way, the comedic storytelling and overall content was fun to read!

A ton of potential in the plot, loved the writing style. Lipman has a very clever and charming way of telling this story that was the only reason I pushed through and finished the book.

The other aspects of this book really fell flat for me. I didn’t feel the chemistry between Perry and Jane, and I didn’t really understand the whole green card marriage plot. I just wasn’t invested in anyone which made the read feel so dry. Probably why it took me a year to finish.
