I feel like nothing happened in this story... It had the potential to be better but was kind of just humdrum everyday life stuff, which wasn't what I thought going in. I gave it an extra half star because the narrator was good enough to keep me listening -- I have a feeling if I'd been reading it another way I might have DNF'd.

Another fun, quirky Elinor Lipman novel. I'm so happy when I see she has a new book out, and after reading it, I am always reminded that I should go back and re-read one of her older novels, which I will be doing soon.

Very light and easy read! I loved every minute of this sweet story!
I…did not like this and I DNF’d it at 15%. I thought the concept sounded fun, but the way it was executed was ridiculous to the point that not even suspension of disbelief could make me want to keep reading.
Nevertheless, I kept going a little further. Small things rubbed me the wrong way (the surprise of the parole offer at being offered tea because “most of her clients don’t do that” or the complete lack of remorse on behalf of the ‘love interest’ despite the fact that he literally stole something and got mad that he was fired for me).
The little things piled together and eventually overwhelmed any desire I had to find out what happens. Not the book for me.
