Major Studio Ghibli/Howls Moving Castle vibes. Such an amazing and whimsical story and the prose is just delightful. An absolute favorite

I don’t know why it took so long for me to dive into the world of Neil Gaiman but what a wonderful way to start. 

Stardust is a lighthearted fantasy with good wit, humour and a satisfying ending. 

Although the language is old and not particularly politically correct, you can understand that Gaiman was not writing in a malicious offensive manner. 

I may just have to watch the movie and see how it compares!

I love the film so much I had very high hopes for the book but I think my hopes were too high.
The book itself was good, if you're into magical adventures and faerie folk and stuff, you'd definitely love it. 
If you're looking for the magical romance from the film, its lacking.
