This book gave me hope that not every Hoover book is hot trash.  Then I got to page 2.
Teenage prostitution.   Arson.  Dead bodies.  Volleyball. WTF.
Anyone that has ANY emotional intelligence will not like this book.  In fact; I find it almost impossible that so many people cried over this shit. It is about a "self-reliant" teen that meets a young man.  He doesn't tell her his real name and lies about everything else.  Just like her.  She doesn't tell her dad SHE FOUND HER MOM DEAD FROM AN OVERDOSE.   This robot of a girl can only feel after a shallow relationship.  Not so independent as every choice is made with complete consideration for the love of her life...after a few weeks.  It must be love because she doesn't find it WEIRD AT ALL that he's going to take care of a body they find on a beach.
Totally unbelievable and reaches beyond all grasp of teenagers.
