Which is which in this 'Boy and His Dog' story! Great fun!

Though it's one of Marvel's thinnest omnibuses, this was great to see Kirby's late creation spring to life in glossy glory. In another stint back at Marvel he was tasked with coming up with a counterpart to his Kamandi and he opted for this 'boy and his dog' style story. But which is which? Laugh. Moon Boy tags along with his 'big brother' Devil as he dispenses his stomping brand of justice across his prehistoric homeland. Kirby's art as always is huge and bold, the arrival of the aliens is especially impressive (looking a bit like Byrne's much later Terminus!). Though they only made it 9 issues, the series was a lot of fun. Recommended!

This contains Devil Dinosaur 1-9 and was one of the last comics Jack Kirby did for Marvel. The art is great but the dialog is terrible. It was kind of a slog to get through. I like parts of it but not enough to give it a 3 or spend much time on the review.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this story, nor do I have any clue why it is on the secret wars reading list, but it was a way more fun read then any of the secret wars comics I have read so far. Loved the intelligence given to Devil and the stories of prehistoric valley were great

You know what towards the end I started to get into it! Curious about the premise of the animated show now.

'70s Kirby about a giant red dinosaur and his Cro Magnon sidekick? What's not to like?

Devil Dinosaur was a ridiculous and adventurous romp. Delightfully entertaining light reading.
