Characters changed their mind the whole time, many issues could be fixed with basic communication, it was a bit overdramatic, and there were many places where the book could have ended. The spicy scenes were decently spicy, but there weren't many of then.

It felt overdone and overwrought.

There were too many plot holes. Alexis the escort fell for Sam immediately upon seeing her. Then started breaking her own rules and the company's rules on their 2nd or 3rd date. Which is so weird because since the beginning she misunderstood that Sam already have a wife, but hire her anyway, so her sudden attraction toward a possible cheater (emotional cheating is cheating) and even offer sex to a woman who said she's only interested in talk and dinner.
Sam who was just before grieving over her death spouse on the 2nd or 3rd date started to feel very attracted to Alexis and even somewhat jealous when she hears about Alexis' clients call in. Keep in mind she was very adamant on keeping it simple.

If I continue reading it'll be a 2/5 at that rate, even the lovely narrator cant salvage this story for me.
I mentally rolled my eyes too much.

I tried on three separate occasions to finish this book, and I just can't do it. If memory serves me correctly (it's been a WHILE) the first 1/3 or so wasn't too terribly bad, but woof starting around 50%. You can view my highlights for the text exchange that had me putting the book down in disgust and finally calling it, guilt-free, that I wasn't finishing this book.
