Tembe Denton-Hurst really takes you through a very real journey of an imperfect protagonist. imperfect enough for me to feel frustrated with her choices and go "NOOO!" but it ultimately made her story more impactful because I had either experienced similar situations or witnessed friends do those same things. I did feel there were a lot of potential plots and relationships that could have been more fleshed out; they didn't get the chance to shine or dive into as much as I would have liked and felt open ended in a way where I wanted more (not necessarily a bad thing i suppose).
