3.5 stars. Real slow burn, even once it picks up. It's really the day to day of an overwhelmed person in a transition period of her life. A lot of internal character psychology. The story is very much relationship driven, not plot driven. Some great writing and I kept reading to the end to find out what happens, but the end doesn't really come. It's one of those books that kind of ends in the middle of the scene.

The discussion of the aftermath of the letter going viral felt rushed. Mickey’s time in Maryland almost felt like a completely different story and I would have liked for the two parts to blend together more cohesively.

I wanted to like this book so much but I just did not. I disagreed with most decisions made by Mickey and found her lowkey selfish. Poor Lex, man!
I related to the fact we want to change the world but end up not even changing ourselves.
