"The Witch Collector" by Charissa Weaks beckons readers into a world pulsating with magic and enigma, where Raina Bloodgood and the enigmatic figure known as The Witch Collector take center stage. Through their dual viewpoints, Weaks orchestrates a narrative brimming with depth and intrigue.

With a deft hand, the author strings together a tapestry of suspense, guiding readers through twists and turns that keep them riveted from start to finish. Raina and Alexus (The Witch Collector) emerge as compelling characters, their contrasting perspectives offering insight into the complexities of the story.

While "The Witch Walker" offers an immersive and enjoyable reading experience, there are areas where it could be strengthened. Some secondary characters lack depth, and certain plot points may feel predictable to seasoned readers of the genre.

Nevertheless, Weaks' vivid descriptions transport readers into the heart of the tale, where magic thrums beneath the surface, and danger lurks around every corner. "The Witch Collector" is a captivating journey into a world where nothing is as it seems—a must-read for fans of supernatural fiction craving a thrilling escape.

this finally got me out of my reading slump

I’ve been in a fantasy reading slump recently and this book FINALLY got me out of it.

I loved, loved this book. The world building, the magic system, the characters all grabbed my attention immediately and I was hooked. It’s easy to jump into but was still full of depth and laid the foundation for a long series and I’m looking forward to reading more.

A few of my favorite things…
- Everything Alexus does. I want more morally grey, possessive moments from him and I have a feeling we’ll get many more when we’re reunited with others.
- The process of Raina finding her magic. I can’t wait to see what else she discovers.
- The found family that is forming
- The slow burn between Alexus and Raina was so worth the wait.

Immediately jumping into the next book!

Only the 1st in a series, but it doesn't end too cliffhanger-y.
