This was a great ending to the Imperial Radch series. I will admit that the scope outlined in the first book was never quite delivered in the second and third books, but it was still an amazing ride. The themes of justice and significance were very intricately woven into the actions of Justice of Tauren. Despite all of the stakes and drama, I think the parts that will stick with me are the delightful scenes with the Presger translators who never ceased to be unnervingly alien. Here is to another whole oyster and a bowl of fish sauce. Down with the usurper and long live AI!

I was reflecting back on this series after locked tomb and realized I rated this too high.
I don't care if "nothing substantive plot wise happens" nor the "main character knows everything and everything they're doing is a purpose" but also. Was just incredibly boring and wish there was less of the latter because the character was not so lovable and the so flat that the catharsis from the character's ingenuity bearing fruit didn't feel like anything. Just oh ok
And the conflict felt trivial! It's not the matter of scale - was not compelling

This was, to me, an excellent continuation of and conclusion to the trilogy, even if it does leave a few things open to interpretation. Translator Zeiat was a great addition to the narrative, as was Sphene, who I grew increasingly more fond of over the course of her interactions with Breq.
I was pleasantly surprised by the humour and the direction the series as a whole took after the first book (though this doesn't seem to be a popular opinion). At times heavy handed, overall I did find this an enjoyable read, and my soft spot for snarky AIs I fear will always win out in the end.
