Hot mess freaking express!! I love these books. Are they “repetitive”? Of course. He’s a SERIAL killer. Some people call the stream of consciousness point of view annoying, I personally like it. Let’s call it “poetic”. I always loved this series for the little Easter eggs and word play. Being in Joe’s brain is so facinating and poor guy he really did try and reform this time.

What a sick and twisted book😱 The narration was chef’s kiss, god, so funny💕 Even if he didn’t kill anyone in this book, his demented mind wanted to do something wrong. Oh god, Nomi, I know you’re a victim, but her “confrontation” with Joe at the latter part of the story made me uncomfortable. 😔 Mary Kaye, you seemed fun and daring. Even if the whole town judged you hard, you rose and tried to be happy again. The story is, as always, so problematic; the Love scenes, goodness gracious. The writing style was so gripping and exciting. And oh my god, the narrator in the audiobook companion was top notch💕

This is the third book of the YOU series. Although I didn’t love it as much as I did the first two I still enjoyed it and the twists at the end. Joe Goldberg came back soft he is not the murderous man it was in the first two he got out of jail and took a new outlook on his life. I’m upset since I’ve been told this book doesn’t match up much to the newest season on Netflix which I knew from the beginning because the trailers all showed Love and Love wasn’t in the book until the very end which kind of made it a slight disappointment for me but that’s my fault for seeing the Netflix trailers.

This book was the most different from the tv series than the other books, which I think made it more enjoyable because there were several plot points I didn’t expect. There were definitely parts that were predictable but I was ultimately surprised by the ending.
I really liked that Joe didn’t actually kill anyone despite several characters around him did end up dying, it helped make things less predictable

This one I felt was much different from the other You books in the fact that I was rooting for Joe to be actually be better. Even though, anyone who has read the book or watched the show knows he should not be redeemed. But I think that’s why I love these books so much. We know he’s a psychopath stalker turn serial killer and yet, since we read it from his point of view and in his head, sometimes it feels justified. Only slightly lol. Then you remember from the other characters point of view and you’re like oh yeah he’s in the wrong

example: all the people he runs into. It’s like I agree with Joe, everyone else is horrible. Melanda, Phil, Ivan, Shortus etc. They all has their flaws. And yet, Joe is possibly (except Shortus, which btw was a crazy twist. And he deserved what he got) the worst of them all and we forget that. Because we are in his mind, and in his mind he’s right. He’s the savior. And it’s crazy he didn’t even kill anyone in this book!! And yet, indirectly he killed them all. Insane.

I really liked this one. And I’m so excited for the next one. The only problem I had was the beginning was very slow paced to me. Took me forever to finally get through it and get intrigued enough to keep reading but it was worth it.
