This is the third book of the YOU series. Although I didn’t love it as much as I did the first two I still enjoyed it and the twists at the end. Joe Goldberg came back soft he is not the murderous man it was in the first two he got out of jail and took a new outlook on his life. I’m upset since I’ve been told this book doesn’t match up much to the newest season on Netflix which I knew from the beginning because the trailers all showed Love and Love wasn’t in the book until the very end which kind of made it a slight disappointment for me but that’s my fault for seeing the Netflix trailers.

A bit repetitive of the previous two books, I still did enjoy Joe’s latest adventures - especially as we entered its final pages. I have to say it got a little too unbelievable towards the end and wrapped up a little quickly, but the characters are ever so compelling and the circumstances intriguing.

Honestly, I think this was better than the second installment! I feel like now that it's fully leaned into the ridiculous, soap-opera-ness it is super enjoyable, even despite a few of the more unrealistic turns
(seriously, the fact that Melanda and Phil both conveniently killed themselves seemed like a stretch)
and the fact that it is overly long, but I didn't see the twist at the end coming at all! I think I would read the next one if there were more of these. Also, highly recommend the audiobook--the narrator is fantastic and it really brightened my commutes.

I’m a big fan of the You series and was on the edge of my seat waiting for this one to come out once I learned that it was happening. This has all the classic Joe drama (lots of death but surprise! He doesn’t actually kill anyone this time) but it did drag in a few parts, and the ending was super rushed. The *twist* was just thrown in there and maybe it will play out better on the show, if they use the majority of this story for season 3. Overall, I was enthralled and wouldn’t read anything else until I finished it. I think everyone will love getting to hate Joe again, and this book shows his true colors.
