Due to Arik’s predicament, the majority of the story is plot instead of smut, but the smut that does happen is fantastic. And the way Matthew is always mindful of Arik’s past with sexual assault is a nice touch.
Minor gripe is it took way too long to learn Arik is a feline shifter. I get that he hides it from others, but the reader should at least know. Though now that I wrote that, I’m kind of miffed we never got a scene of Arik letting Matthew smell the real him without any of the layers of smell protection he has.
Another small gripe is how Arik’s pop culture sense of humor is identical to Nate’s. I guess that could feasibly mean they’re super compatible as friends, but it’s also meh in terms of lack of variety in character voices.

Not as good as first in the series. I really didn't like the part where Matthew was struggling to not be intimate w Arik without his consent. Like why did that need to be in the book? Without it book would've been much better.
