Już dawno żadna książka nie zmęczyła mnie tak bardzo. Mówię to z przykrością, wspominając wcześniejsze serie z tego uniwersum. Jakoś nie mogę przekonać się do Apolla — do jego ciągłego narzekania i wychwalania siebie, jaki to nie był wspaniały, a teraz jaki jest beznadziejny, i że to wszystko wina jego wyglądu. Rozumiem, że to nawiązanie do jego boskości i charakteru jako boga, ale ile można? Wszystko okraszone jest żartami, które wydają się wymuszone i po których czułam jedynie cringe. A największym żartem była ta końcowa bitwa i sposób, w jaki się zakończyła.
Fabuła również nie była wybitna — brakowało mi napięcia i poczucia przygody, które towarzyszyły wcześniejszym częściom. Pewnie za jakiś czas sięgnę po kolejny tom i spróbuję oddać sprawiedliwość serii, ale na razie nie czuję się do tego zachęcona.

Posso dire? Questa saga mi sta piacendo molto di più della precedente. Lester/Apollo è un protagonista eccellente e i comprimari sono ugualmente apprezzabili.

I don't even know where to begin. I have to say, I really liked the book. I understand the criticism that maybe not much happens, but I have to say, story-wise, the writing style and Apollo as a character himself, I think it is so interesting and well-written that I could hardly put the book down the whole time. The flashbacks from Apollo to ancient time and how this influenced the story, were a good way to create suspense. I loved the dynamics between the characters, for example between Apollo, Leo and Calypso, but I've also grown more fond of Meg. The book ends with a cliffhanger, and I'm definitely excited to see what happens next!!
Apollo is really tragic character, his stories with his sons and with Commodus. Wow, I was shocked that something like that was even described like that in a Rick Riordan book. I have to say, I thought it was really good that the bitterness of the characters has continued up to the present and it helped Apollo to grow and have more character development. He now realizes that lifes are not interchangeable, especially Leo Calypso and Meg. And Meg also has such a sad backstory, and of course her personality has developed more, and I have taken her closer to my heart and I'm so happy that they're going to Camp Jupiter and meeting the others again. And Leo too. I hope that we get to see him again. Grover comes back at the end. I was so happy, I love him guy, but this poor guy was just chilling and suddenly he has to go on another quest into the damn labyrinth. I'm excited to learn who the last emperor is and how they are going to be defeated. So far the other two are still alive. They've restored one oracle. One was destroyed. So the situation isn't looking so good. Oh yes, I just thought it was really funny that Apollo kept mentioning the other gods, how they do things like a normal family, for example, teasing each other and other things, which humanizes them! And also Apollos crushing on everyone was so funny!!

I feel like this took forever and went absolutely nowhere. As other reviewers have said, this book lacks the magic of others in the Percy Jackson world. Let's hope the third one is good.
weird pacing some moments were really fun and addictive and some were boring and very very slow so yeah… :/
