The .5 novella of a series. This focuses on a football player who needs to pass biology to play football. Enter his "nerdy" tutor, who is his perfect match. When his friends see her a bet is made that he can sleep with her. Enter a She's All That type storyline. The rest of the novella follows that formula and it's fine. I did like that the male lead did not get the girl back. Good for her.

This prequel definitely gave me 2015 romance. It ended in a cliff-hanger so I'm going to continue on to see how it unfolds in the first book.

I really liked these characters and the story line of this book. I felt like it was too fast for everything packed into this novella, I wanted more of this part of Shayna and Lee’s story. I’m hoping I get this in the next book!

Oh what a start to what is going to be one epically delicious enemies to lovers, second chance romance! False Start is a great prequel for Lee and Shayna. Short, sweet, sexy and fun, Piper Rayne gave me just enough to have hooked and craving more. I can’t wait to read the rest of their journey!

I didn't know this was a prequel to the full story of Lee and Shayna. Thought it's a novella. But no matter. I've added You've Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows to my wish list.

A kick in the guts
Oof...that was rough.
Super sweet and fun to start off with—I loved the build up to breaking point. But, Lee learned the hard way not to play games with people's hearts. I can't wait to watch him grovel. He better bring his A-game!
