Alain Robbe-Grillet's [i:]The Erasers[/i:] is the rare novel written very much with academia and literary theory in mind that still rings true. It's not [i:]Jealousy[/i:], but it's still excellent and evocative and unique. It's too much to get into right now, but I might write more extensively about it later.

the blurry transitions in narrative perspective are fun.
oh, what's up with "revolver"? repeated a hundred times. is that the translator's mistake? even has a picture of a revolver in the cover art of the edition i borrowed. the gun in question has a clip, jams, and can utilize a silencer. that's a pistol.

I can't quite put my finger on it but there is something intriguing & charming about this book. It a good read about a desire for justice & truth ... The lingering sense of longing for something intangible and beyond one's reach feels similar to the situation we are living in now.
