One of my favorite feminist authors! Audre Lorde’s work centers around the theme of intersectionality. Two of my favorite quotes that sum up her writing, “I am not free while any other woman is unfree, even when her Shackles are different from my own” and “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-struggle lives.” If you want to get into feminist literature, it is essential that you read the work of Audre Lorde and other prominent black feminist icons. (Also bring some tissues when you read her “burst of light” collection)
