Henry you would have loved Twitter and Dorian you wouldn't even have to sell your soul for some lip fillers.

I wanted to like Oscar Wilde but I hated Dorian. Just detested him.. And the writing was overly descriptive and flowery. I feel like the only redeeming element of the story was the plot but it disappeared within paragraphs that seemed so pointless to me

A banger novel. Wilde has a great way of writing monologues and exploring thoughts about others through dialogue. Very twilight zone in the best way. Fun anti-hedonistic classic with a dash of subversive romance

"I have always been my own master; had at least always been so, till I met Dorian Gray" [...] "I wonder who it was who defined man as a rational animal. It was the most premature definition ever given. Man is many things, but he is not rational."
incredible, and easily a book I will think about for the rest of my life.
