There’s dubious consent due to a love potion, addressed within the narrative.kittykels's review against another edition

Again, the conflict resolution felt rushed and I felt there was a bit of the miscommunication trope (sort of, don't let it deter you; it does make sense in this scenario, it was just very mildly irksome) but I still enjoyed the romance between Brie and Felix.
I can't judge a short book too harshly for moving everything along quickly, even if it's a little too quickly, so the main reason I didn't give a better rating is because this book didn't feel different enough from the first book. It needed to have its own uniqueness to keep it from feeling boring and like it's basically just rehashing the same plot/conflict.
It sounds like the 3rd book is a bit different, but I won't be reading it right away. I think I would have liked this second book better if I would have read some other books in between, maybe, so I'm hoping that will be the case if I wait a bit to read the 3rd book.

That energy and the love and appreciation of cheese is relatable. Be sure to read the novella Mistlefoe between book one and book two unless you want to be confused by a talking no-longer-inanimate object.

This book starts off with our main character, Brie (who is a cheesemaker), she's at a party with her best friend Cinnamon (the same Cinnamon who was the main character of book 1!) and they're getting drunk and having a nice time. Well, they were trying to have a nice time. There's a man who keeps asking Brie out on a date and he won't take no for an answer.
After Brie and this asshole argue back and forth for a bit, the man apologizes and tries to offer her a drink. Brie doesn't want to take it, but the pushy man insists! So, Brie grabs the drink and tries to throw it at him, but he dodges the drink and it hits and unsuspected person BEHIND HIM! This wouldn't be such a big deal if it were just a drink, but it turns out that it's a love potion. The person struck with the love potions name is Felix, he turns around and the first person he sees is Brie and he instantly falls in love.
After that, a hilarious and sweet story happens and it's just so good. I really recommend this series for anyone who likes romance, spice/erotica, and sweet scenes.
I would give this 5 stars but there was one thing I didn't like so I'm knocking off .5 stars. While Felix and Brie are visiting Cinnamon and Fallon, Felix is telling them that
The spice in this was nice, I'm giving this 4 chilies out out 5 chilies 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️worth of spice.
Overall this novella was cute, I'm giving this 4.5 stars out of 5

This one felt even more fast paced, which given the length, I am not complaining about!
It was a fun and lighthearted read with lots of silly moments and swoony instalove romance.

Unfortunately, I didn't end up liking this book as much as the first. It swings from silly to over-the-top sexual very fast. The plot that this book does have happens suddenly without many questions being asked, and feels quite surface-level.
Overall the writing style is fun and lighthearted, with cute characters and scenarios. Do not take this book seriously.
