Still very fun but the romance and fantasy plots don’t mesh quite as well as the first one.

That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf was a fun fantasy romp that I enjoyed a bit more than the first Mead Mishaps book.

Brie and Felix are cute, though I do wish they’d spent more time together. The whole speed marriage thing doesn’t really do it for me, and it made believing the depth of their relationship a bit of a challenge.

The Mead Mishaps books are definitely here for a fun time, not a great time. 3 stars.

Such a fun romantic fantasy! Just the right amount of spice too. So much so, that this novel is now the bar for good romantic fantasy for me. I also like how it didn't take itself seriously all the time, like the use of current slang didn't distract from the writing and plot. It was consistent without being over used.

This series is so unserious and I cackled my way through this. I’m so here for a lady who knows what she likes and doesn’t apologize for it.

I did feel like it was slightly less charming than the first book, probably because it has an insta-love element and is missing the adventure component. Still, if Kimberly Lemming were to write a million books in this series, I’d read all of them.

That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf is the second book in the Mead Mishaps series by Kimberly Lemming. It was just as cute as the first book, I really enjoyed it.

This book starts off with our main character, Brie (who is a cheesemaker), she's at a party with her best friend Cinnamon (the same Cinnamon who was the main character of book 1!) and they're getting drunk and having a nice time. Well, they were trying to have a nice time. There's a man who keeps asking Brie out on a date and he won't take no for an answer.

After Brie and this asshole argue back and forth for a bit, the man apologizes and tries to offer her a drink. Brie doesn't want to take it, but the pushy man insists! So, Brie grabs the drink and tries to throw it at him, but he dodges the drink and it hits and unsuspected person BEHIND HIM! This wouldn't be such a big deal if it were just a drink, but it turns out that it's a love potion. The person struck with the love potions name is Felix, he turns around and the first person he sees is Brie and he instantly falls in love.

After that, a hilarious and sweet story happens and it's just so good. I really recommend this series for anyone who likes romance, spice/erotica, and sweet scenes.

I would give this 5 stars but there was one thing I didn't like so I'm knocking off .5 stars. While Felix and Brie are visiting Cinnamon and Fallon, Felix is telling them that
he and Brie are officially married, and that they were discussing how many kids they might want to have
. Brie is embarrassed that Felix won't stop talking about this so she attempts to hit him, repeatedly. She does not hit him, but the fact that she attempted to really pissed me off. Hitting people isn't acceptable unless you're protecting yourself or your loved ones. I'm honestly tried of seeing the trope of "women hitting their partners" or "women hitting men". It's not okay and writing that little bit in just reinforces this idea that hitting your partner/a person for any old reason is okay.

The spice in this was nice, I'm giving this 4 chilies out out 5 chilies 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️worth of spice.

Overall this novella was cute, I'm giving this 4.5 stars out of 5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fun, but it was missing the narrative thrust of the previous book. I kept forgetting about the big conflict when there wasn't focus on it because it was treated more like a subplot.
