This book is definitely a challenging read, but I found it powerful and persuasive. It definitely brings a very particular point of view to the problem of drinking, but I found it encouraging and relevant to my own journey. Annie Grace challenges society's pervasive view of alcohol and offers a perspective on problem-drinking/alcoholism (whatever you want to call it) that was refreshing and empowering. Not a light read, but an important one.

It’s a good book that helps everyone (moderate drinkers as me as well) to evaluate why we are drinking and what role we want alcohol to have in our lives. It’s all about making well informed choices and empowering yourself.
It’s disturbing how alcohol has become a much protected and promoted aspect of our society. Grace explains this all. She shows how changing the way we unconciously think and feel about alcohol is the key to success when you conciously want to drink less.

This book made me think a lot about the cognitive dissonance most of us feel about putting poison into our bodies. Lots of interesting information and I didn’t find it preachy, but I am certainly looking at alcohol a lot differently these days and noticing things that I probably chose not to notice so much before.

I liked many parts of this book. I learned so much about how the brain and alcohol are linked and soo much more. Minus one star because I felt like the author was making it sound like you must not drink any alcohol at all. Not into that vibe.
