Busy did an amazing job narrating this memoir. There were great moments and some cringeworthy moments, but my absolute favorite moment was her encounter with John Paul II. The Lord gave her a window into love and mercy, which she talks about how it affected her life. I think she could have gone deeper on that not just in the book but in the way her life changed afterward. But overall, good and funny (although a lot of language, which isn’t my favorite).
All the stars for how happy I was while listening to this book. Busy Phillips is honest and hilarious and not afraid to share stories no matter how cringey or embarrassing. I loved this so much for its relatability and ridiculousness. If you’re not following her on Instagram, you should. If you haven’t read this yet, you should.
I listened to this and really enjoyed hearing the author's voice and emphasis.

Parts of this were brilliant, especially the parts about her teen years. But then I got a little lost when it came to the details of her acting career and marriage.
This was a fun celebrity memoir. Busy has such a clear voice throughout the entire book, it makes for a great read.

🎥Before Keegan was born, I was the Hollywood master! No one could blow through an US Weekly or People magazine like me. Each weekday night I’d hear the words “Extra! Extra!” blaring from my tv. These days I don’t know crap about pop culture. It’s pretty sad. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t still love it! So when my Busy Phillips audiobook became available, I was ALLLLL over it!!! This Will Only Hurt a Bit was big dash of Hollywood but a whole lot of real human. Busy- let’s be best friends.
🎥It’s so easy to assign a fancy pants stigma to anyone that’s a part of the Hollywood biz. Busy doesn’t just break that stigma...she shatters it. Not only did she grow up in a typical, dysfunctional household but she continued to grow up to be a typical, dysfunctional human. You know- like all of us! Yeah her job kicks more ass than ours, but she also says “fuck” way more than even I do and she openly shares her mistakes, misfortunes, and failures (as well as her achievements and growth) with the world and without shame. This wasn’t a book that screamed “look at how great I am!”. It was a book that focused on how human she is...with a healthy mix of some great Hollywood gossip and shit-talking. I couldn’t ask for anything more!
