I loved this because it's Scalzi and I like his voice. And it had space. And explosions. But I felt like it was divided between trying to be both a serial novel and a complete whole, which resulted in it not entirely working as either. But as far as experiments go, it was interesting to read and advanced the world in a good way, without rehashing too much of the other parts he has written.

I love the universe of Old Man's War. This book was a great addition. Given the episodic nature of it, would be an awesome series to see produced with each chapter being an episode of the show.
