I found myself laughing and crying with Erika and her honestly and vulnerability are as refreshing as they are gritty.

At times it felt like the narrative elements could've used some tightening, but the prose is richly poetic.

Occasionally the essays felt disjointed, like there wasn’t a clear connection between the thoughts, but I loved everything she wrote. Very emotional but also humorous at times.

I really enjoyed Sanchez's memoir for the most part, but I wish I had read the text rather than listening to it. At times the narration felt very disjointed and it pulled me out of the moment. I appreciate the candor with which Sanchez shares her struggles with mental illness, generational trauma and guilt, search for meaningful romance, and path to motherhood. Her writing is beautiful and real.
