I thought this book was really well written. The MC is an awful person, but like a dumpster fire you can’t look away from. Interesting and critical exploration of white feminity/ sexuality. Even though I enjoyed all these technical components, I am glad that it’s over and I don’t think I will be rereading.

Not as tense as others have described to me. I never felt tense until the last two chapters, however this book was a wild and fun ride

Captivating in a stressful way! Alex, the protagonist in this book, is our modern day messy disaster that we strangely root for. Moreso to find some relief to the cringey and terrible positions she puts herself in. Looking forward to reading more of Cline’s books!

A summer read for sure. It’s dark, it’s messy, it’s intoxicating, it’s the Hamptons.
Recommend for Ottessa Moshfegh fans.

This book had all my big nos:
1. Unlikable main character
2. No plot
3. Unsatisfying ending

I would have DNF'd it had this not been a book club book. It was just the same tirade chapter after chapter.
